What the Future Holds

Just to clarify, these are for two different projects...

What do you think?

Well, most of the windows are finished and I am now debating if I will do the half windows on the side with color or not.  This is entirely machine stitched as I have yet to develop a love for hand quilting (probably come with maturity).I am planning on adding a border and making this a baby quilt.  My sort of baby quilt, coffee themed and visually stimulating.  I love the look of the cathedral window quilt.  I definitely see more of these in my quilting adventures!

On a side note, I think I have found a project for my daughter's first quilting experience.  Now she gets to pick some fabrics from the stash.  This won't happen until next week some time as I have a very busy weekend of the less creative sort.  However, I am sure I will be ready to launch into some new projects come Monday.

Kids can Quilt

I know I am fairly new to this whole quilting thing.  And I know that there are others of you out there who are SO much more qualified to do such a thing, but I have been approached to toy with the idea of teaching a kids quilting class.
"Are you crazy?" was the first thing that went through my mind.  However, my dear daughter told me last night that she would like me to teach her how to quilt also.  Let's see, in-home guinea pig for my first quilting class.  There might be some potential here.
So, if there is anyone out there who has any tips or ideas for me and this possible venture, please pass them on!

And Next Up Is...

a cathedral window quilt.

I have been following a two different blogs for the tutorials and inspiration...
hyena-in-petticoats
House of A La Mode  Part 1 & Part 2  (there is music on this blog, don't let it scare you like it did me!)

Where is the 'V'?

I actually finished these some time ago, but just haven't had time to post them...

However, these things are getting lots of use around our home and when I gathered them today the 'V' was missing.  I had grand ideas that these things would spark of curiosity about letters, but the only thing is sparked was rain.  That is right, rain!  We often have alphabet rainstorms in our home these days, as seen in the left side of the picture below.
The blessing is that they do not hurt, unlike Lincoln Logs, race cars or superheros.  And on one such storm, this was found.
I think the set is complete now, but how am I to know??

Waiting...

This was the view on my kitchen table all week...
Then while the boys were napping yesterday it turned into this...

But is any 5 year-old girl complete with a princess cape?  I don't think so, so I foraged through the supplies and ended up with this....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS J!
