Cedar Christmas Wreath

I brought home some cedar rounds from my trip to Tennessee knowing that a wreath of some capacity would be born.  After searching the internet I came up with, nothing.  So they sat.  First on the patio, then in the dining room. then in the craft room, then back to the dining room.  All in an attempt to keep them on my mind so I could try and figure out what to do.  Then it finally happened.  I decided that I was going to make the wreath.  I would just figure it out.  No end plan.  No idea how.  After SEVERAL hours and a couple movies, I was satisfied.  Here the finished product...

To make this wreath all you need is some cedar rounds, a wire wreath frame and a trip to the dollar store for two rolls of ribbon, a box of bells, an ornament for the center a drill, scissors, bendable wire and some food (this is going to take some time).  I drilled two holes in each round and secured them to the wire frame one at a time until I had two rows.  I then added ribbon to the center, then the bells and bow.  Finished with attaching an ornament in the center and viola!  A beautiful wreath and a huge mess was laying on my table!

I am sure that both of you have been wondering where I have been.  Or maybe you thought I gave up sewing and crafting.  Well, I am not sure where I have been, but I have been busy.  Here are a few things that I have done since I last checked in...

My new purse for fall. (not the best picture, but you get the idea)

A new cape for a birthday boy...
A finished bag by my sewing student...
and a cape that my dear daughter told me she needed.
Oh, and I also finished this little quilt.  Better pictures to come when it goes in my ETSY shop!
I will try to post a little sooner next time!

The Craft Room

Since I came home from Tenneessee, I have had great plans on how to make my space more 'Sarah' friendly.  I then decided to take on the giant task of re-arranging my entire house.  I did have to borrow some muscles to help move my ginormous tv, but other than that I managed the rest by myself.  I moved my entire bedroom up and the play room down.  Moved the kids beds about and am now left with piles to try and find a home for.  My craft room is not complete yet, but are they ever???  It was a nice quiet place while the kidlets slept this morning.

Last night I had to use this messy little space.  Here is a glimpse of what I finished.
Stay tuned for more!!!

More Pillows

Here is another set of pillows I just completed for a friend of mine.  I realized that I am not very good at following directions, but I love to look at pictures and try to guess.  I hope you enjoy them, Deb!

My New Purse

**you can find the tutorial that I used HERE**

Here is the purse that I made yesterday.  The flower is from a coat that I found at Goodwill on clearance and the fabric is from the remnant rack.  Gotta love orange!  My go to color for the season!

Ready for some Time Travel?

I have not made many things for my boys because sewing for girls is so much easier.  Well that changed recently when I ran across this tutorial.  An indoor hanging tent seemed like just the thing for our apartment.  Of course, not just any tent would do for my brood.  We needed a TARDIS. (For those of you who don't know what a tardis is, you need to watch Doctor Who).  Yep, that is what we needed!  So, our tardis took flight last night, and most of the family is happy.  Though #3 is a little upset that he can not travel through time with this, so next he would like the real thing.  I followed the tutorial mentioned above for the dimensions, but it ended there.  The rest of it, I just played by ear or eye or something like that.

Now if only we could get the toys picked up...

Pillow Love

It is time for a confession.  I do not have any throw pillows on my bed.  None.  To think, someone who loves to sew has no decorative pillows!  Well, that is going to change.  A friend of mine asked me to recover some of her pillows and I really love the way they turned out.  I loved trying new techniques.  I loved that I was able to finish one in a sitting.  I love the way they look together, without being identical.  Yep, I am going to get me some of those.  Until then, you get to see hers.
This adorable pillow is reversible!  And was inspired from this tutorial.

Tuesday

I have been crafting and sewing lately, but I have not been putting everything up.  I figured I would save some things until I have them all completed.  Until then, you get to see some of what is filling in the gaps.

A sweet little drawstring bag (made from a curtain panel already appliqued) for a carnival can set.

and two more thesaurus wreaths have been made.

WIP Wednesday

I finished this baby set today while staying home with ill kid-lets once again.  It consists of a carseat canopy, a matching 38 x 40 inch blanket and a therapeutic neck wrap, in a refreshing mint scent, for the new mommy.

I also just HAD to get out of the house.  So the kids and I walked to the school next door and tried to take a picture of a quilt top I just finished.  I had my 4-year-old take the picture while my daughter and I tried to hold it in place during a very blustery period of time.

My Monday

Monday's are my day to catch up.  Seems that weekend activities make staying home all the more needed.  I did, however, finish up some crafts and photograph some already finished ones this weekend.  I also took some time to play with Willie G. a little more.

Here is the quilt I made for my mom for her b-day and mothers' day.  It is made with flannel shirts from my grandfather, who passed away earlier this year.

This is a carseat canopy that was a special order.  The criteria was camo and moose.  I just fell in love with this guy!

Oh, and here is a picture of my little guy, who wanted his picture taken while I was taking some others.

Burlap and Blossoms

Here is a wreath that I made last week.  It took longer than I anticipated to glue on all that burlap, but well worth the effort...

My Table

There have been many projects gracing my table as of late.  Here are a few of them...

 1)  That is a basket for my little girl's school fundraiser.  I made the tote and a matching pillowcase to add to about 50 pounds of candy...
 2)  This sweet little bunny pancake grace our table Easter morning...
 3) My little girls quilt in progress

4) The view on my table currently.
What I didn't post was pictures of Mother's Day gifts in the making.  I am still not done with them, but getting there.  Oh, and another carseat canopy that will make it's debut in my ETSY shop soon.
